Maybe it is the comfort food aspect as we enter into fall and the chilly weather has me hunkering for something rich, smooth and satisfying. But, I just loved the Peanut Butter Cup Meringues I recently made and it set off a craving for this pie. In a separate bowl, beat the peanut butter, 1/4 cup butter, and cream. Beat the eggs with 3/4 cup butter or margarine, chocolate and confectioners' sugar for a FULL 5 minutes. Then you stir melted peanut butter into Cool Whip which magically combines into a light, creamy peanut butter mousse. Stir in crushed cereal until evenly coated. Microwave uncovered on High 30 seconds stir until blended. In ungreased 9-inch microwavable pie plate, mix butter and 1 tablespoon peanut butter. Step 2 Cut butter into smaller chunks and add to flour mixture. Place cereal in resealable food-storage plastic bag seal bag and crush with rolling pin. Pour that into a purchased Oreo pie crust and chill it for a few hours. Step 1 Make the chocolate crust: Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, and salt in a medium bowl and whisk to combine. This pie is very easy to make, but you do need to get it started at least 4 hours before you’d like to serve it, which means all the work is done in advance! First you just stir together warmed cream and melty chocolate to make a rich chocolate ganache layer.
